Emma is a Chartered Physiotherapist, specialising in musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. She has practiced MSK physiotherapy for several years.
She has an interest in functional and movement based treatment and rehabilitation, using Pilates as a method to teach fundamental movement patterns.
She also understands and is passionate about the role of the breath and mindfulness within rehabilitation, and general wellbeing. This is an important concept which is used throughout Emma’s classes, to ensure each participant gets the most out of the class. Breathing techniques can help reduce respiratory infections, anxiety, and stress.
Emma is a keen runner and exercise enthusiast. Having had a few injuries herself, she understands the importance of strength, mobility and stability for a number of conditions/injuries as well as general health. She has found personal practice of Pilates a fantastic way of managing these injuries as well as postural discomfort, and is passionate to teach these principles so that others can learn and achieve the benefits of Pilates.
