Running Strength and Conditioning Class

What is involved in a Running S&C Class?
Our running S+C class is a perfect adjunct to your running training, including resistance, core and plyometric exercises. With a focus on strength, speed, core control and power, the exercises are designed to target specific muscle groups used in running. We believe in developing functional strength and stability from the ground up.
Why come to Health & Exercise Matters for Running S&C Classes?
The classes are physiotherapy led, and have a focus on injury prevention through strengthening and functional movement exercises. By improving strength and control, and working on plyometric and power based exercises, running form and efficiency can be improved, reducing the risk of common running related injuries such as ITB pain, lateral hip pain, plantar fasciitis.
We offer group classes, as well as 1:1 gait analysis, which goes into more detail in terms of assessing your running gait and prescribing an individualised exercise programme. Both are led by our physiotherapist and experienced runner Emma, who has a specialist interest in running related injuries and gait analysis.
